The claims triage layer was still entirely manual. We decided to fix that.
Katherine Sullivan spent more than a decade inside Hartford-based P&C carriers, most recently leading a claims transformation effort at a regional multi-line insurer. In 2021, she was asked to diagnose why the carrier's bodily injury cycle times were running 30% above industry benchmarks. The answer wasn't adjuster skill — it was intake. Every BI claim sat in an undifferentiated queue for two to four days before a human read it, assessed severity, confirmed coverage, and decided who should handle it. The adjuster opened a cold file. The policyholder waited.
The data infrastructure to solve that problem — document parsing, live PAS queries, routing logic — existed in adjacent operational domains. What didn't exist was a purpose-built layer that understood P&C-specific FNOL formats, policy administration system structures, and the adjuster skill taxonomy that determines where a claim should actually go. Katherine co-founded ClaimVyne in 2022 to build that layer.
Insurance operations and engineering — built together.

We're building in the insurance capital of the United States.
Hartford has been the center of the US insurance industry for over 200 years. Travelers, Hartford Financial Services, Aetna, CIGNA — the institutional knowledge of how insurance operations work is concentrated here in ways it isn't anywhere else.
ClaimVyne is built by people who came from carriers, TPAs, and insurance technology firms in this ecosystem. We didn't build a claims automation product and then try to understand insurance. We understood insurance first.
We work with a small number of carrier engagements at a time.
Every pilot starts with a conversation about your claims operation — what you're handling manually today, where the volume is concentrated, what your CMS environment looks like. Contact us to begin that conversation.
